Hi, Mr. Ed's real name was Bamboo Harvester, he was foaled in 1949 in El Monte and belonged to the president of the Californian Palomino Association. Wrangler Les Hilton bought him for the show. Two days after purchasing Bamboo Harvester his name was legally changed and the stallion became a gelding. That's probably why Ed became so talkative. And no, he was no zebra. That's an internet hoax.
