I knew Florence Mcmichael and her family - she lived in Sierra Madre, Ca, where I grew up (she was the second next door neighbor on the Mr Ed Show) In trhe mid-1960s I was invited to see the real Mr Ed, through Ms mcMichael. I met Mr Ed's trainer, who had trained 'Rex" a very famous silent movie horse of the 1920s and 30's. He apparently, was a very intelligent animal. He (Mr Ed's trainer) struck me as an old Hollywood movie horse wrangler- the last of a dying breed. I will never forget that encounter...
