The church where I am at is currently studying "what heaven will be like". The sermons seem very man centered. I am concerned we are recreating heaven in the image of our desires. For instance we have been teaching that there will be great fishing in heaven, family time grilling outside, great technology, there will be golfing and other sports (we will loose sometimes but we will have eternity to continue to perfect our skills). It seems the main concern is that we fear people will view heaven as "boring" unless we tell them "there will be snowboarding there". I grew up learning the main attraction of heaven is the Glory of the Triune God. I am very concerned with the humanistic focus of our church. We say things like "heaven is about you; that is why God say 'I go to prepare a place for YOU" but we forget about the glory of the next line "that where I am you may be also" which to me is the focus. Anyway I was looking for some good articles that might Biblically address this faulty view.
