I just read an article on this website that declares with authority thet what the Apostle Paul told us at: 2 Cor. 5 vs * is not accurate. ( to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord). I take issue with that authority and trump what Paul told us with what Jesus Christ himself proclaimed on the cross to the thief at his side in Luke 23 vs 43. TODAY you will be with me in PARADISE. TODAY...not in 1,000 years, not in 1,000,000 million years , not in a week or a month or a year.....TODAY. We all know that Jesus died and went into the grave and then he went to PARADISE to proclaim his death and resurrection to all the faithful that had died before him....those who trusted GOD. Abraham, Moses, David, Jacob, Isaiah...all of the prophets and yes...even HIS own mother Mary. The body alone remains in the grave and awaits the "second coming" of Jesus Christ at which time "the BODY of Christ...the faithful who trust and love the LORD will be "caught up in the air with HIM...but the bible tells us that the "dead in Cghrist will rise FIRST" and receive their incorruptable body...the same sort of body Jesus now has and has since his ressurection and assention into heaven. 1 Thessolonians 4 vs 16 - 17 "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord foreveer."
NO...the author of the article is not the authority...JESUS CHRIST IS the absolute authority...and Pau did not give us bad information but told us the truth...."to be absent from the body IS (ABSOLUTELY) to be present with the LORD." HALLELUJAH AMEN
