Posted by Joyce on 3/25/2007, 12:42 am, in reply to "Re: His Appearing and His Coming" I agree, of course that Paul certainly did not have the church which is His body in mind when he wrote of the resurrection in I Cor. 15 because that was still a secret hid in God at the time. I think we are talking about two different things here. I am talking about when the church is resurrected. What I am saying is that: 1) the church is waiting for the epipheneia 2) The antichrist is destroyed by the epipheneia (II Thess. 2:8) 3) The antichrist is destroyed at Christ's parousia. That means that the epipheneia and the parousia occur at the same time. 4) Because the church is raised at the epipheneia, which is at the same time as the parousia, the church is included in the resurrection spoken of in I Cor.l 15, even though Paul did not know of the church at that time. I agree, the parousia is not that aspect of Christ's coming that is applicable to the church. But that aspect that is applicable to the church is the epipheneia, and since that occurs at the same time as the epipheneia (it is that that destroyed the antichrist at Christ's parousia) then the church is raised at the same time as all believers, i.e. all who are "in Christ" and all who "belong to Him". In Him,
