Posted by Lynn on 3/23/2007, 7:07 am, in reply to "Re: His Appearing and His Coming" Now I understand your conclusion. We as believers are of course "in Christ" as life is only through Him. There is more than one resurrection mentioned in Revelation. The second of two does not occur until after the millennium, so not all are resurrected at His coming. (Rev 20:5) It is of course possible that the coming and His appearing coincide, but we are not given that time frame specifically in books concerning our resurrection. God is all powerful. He will literally be all in all. I Cor 15 says that the last enemy to be destroyed is death. There will still be death and dying at His coming - during the day of the Lord and the 1000 year kingdom and a little beyond when Satan will be "loosed" for a time. In 1Cor 15:28 Php 3:20,21 reminds me of this thought because of the phraseology about subduing all things unto Himself: "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself." There is no mention of a trumpet sounding or the sign of His coming or any being caught up or meeting Him, etc. There is no mention of "transport" at all, only that when He appears, we shall appear with Him. "They that are Christ's" mentioned in 1Cor 15:23 are the overcomers from the tribulation are they not? The "elect" also (i.e. those who heard the word and believed as mentioned in 1Th 2:13). Matt 24:29-31. This gathering of His elect was prophesied in Deut 30: 4,5. It is so specific that I just can't make the connect between His coming and His appearing. Lynn

Dear Joyce,
And when all things shall be put subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.
