That is why I was hesitant to use the word. But, looking at scriptural usage, the word (Gr. Christianos) occurs 3 times and means a follower of Christ. It was a term first used of Christ's disciples. It sort of reminds me of other words, like "saint," which is understood by almost nobody. Around Christmas time, they always stick up pictures of an "angel" where I work. This "angel" is female, has wings, is a girl who looks to be 4 years old, has a halo, and probably some other inaccuracies. I want to scrawl across the picture that the appearance of angels is the same as a man.
