Posted by Lynn on 2/4/2007, 6:24 pm, in reply to "Re: Membership of the One Body" This subject is still a puzzle to me. We know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. (Ro 10:17) Also, "That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. (1Cor 2:5) Eph 4:15 Why do some not have knowledge? Is there any place where those who are blind to the truth are called believers? Eph 4:18 I have known someone who attended church all of her life and faithfully read her Bible every day. When she was in her seventies, she finally began to see the difference in things written in Ephesians. She accepted this with great joy and found that she could no longer feel comfortable attending her church. She was ridiculed and many said she had "lost her faith" since she left the church. I think she found it. Col 1:21-23 Is God not more than able to give wisdom and knowledge to those who ask of Him? Why are there those who have no understanding? 2Cor 4:3,4 This is one view. If there is another, please enlighten me.

Dear Chris,
"But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.
"If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister".
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, Who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
