Posted by Chris Here are two verses from Psalm 17, which is a prayer of the Messiah according to the CB, and prayed in the light of Psalm 16.8-11 (headed in the CB 'His (Christ's) Mission and His Word') (14) From men WHICH ARE THY HAND, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes. Question: I did wonder if 'which is Thy sword' referred to 'deliver my soul', not'from the wicked' until I saw that 'which are thy hand' in verse 14 was in reference to 'From men', 'men of the world which have their portion in this life'. Can anyone confirm my thoughts, or otherwise please. Chris

Hello there,
(13) Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, WHICH IS THY SWORD:
Are the words, highlighted in capitals, referring to the 'wicked men' here, and if so does that indicate that these wicked men were being used by God to fulfil His purposes.
