Posted by Chris Yes, a friend of mine arranges a holiday at this time of year, he was originally a Jehovah's Witness and started the practice of going away during that time, in order to get his children away from it. Although he has since come to know the Lord as Saviour and left the Jehovah's Witnesses, he still continues to go away at this time. Probably Joyce is right to just consider it to be simply a statutory public holiday and enjoy it as that, because you cannot change anything. The flesh has to have its 'holy days' and religous practices! Only as we walk in the spirit, in Christ, can we see the error of it all, and our minds are free of the contamination of religious ceremonialism and fleshly practices. Thank you
