Posted by Chris Thank you both for your responses, you are absolutely right of course. I do not want to minimise God's sovereignty in any way, but had been thinking about His foreknowledge. Which in no way minimises His sovereignty. He does pre-destine according to forknowledge, in order to accomplish His purposes. For example we were chosen from before the foundation of the world.
