Posted by Chris on 11/19/2006, 11:45 pm I think of the illustrations of the two babies in Rebecca’s womb, God’s choice was presumably determined by His prior knowledge of the character and subsequent action of the two. He who knows the end from the beginning can make judgements according to knowledge. He knows that one will have eyes to see and ears to hear, and will believe and respond to the word heard with faith, and He knows the subsequent outcome. He knows whether the end will be one of faithfulness and full growth, or faithlessness and stunted growth, and His choice is made accordingly. That is how I see predestination and election. Am I right in thinking that the election, and pre-destination, of God, is based on His foreknowledge, and is not a predetermined allocation of place devoid of that foreknowledge.
Am I wrong in thinking this way? I would value your input, especially if backed by scripture obviously.
