Posted by Chris on 10/30/2006, 2:14 am I woke yesterday with thoughts of Abram and wondered at the wisdom of God in His dealings with Him. That when he was in his 90's and all hope for the procreation of children was past in the flesh, God promised him that Sarah was going to have a child. True to his word ayear later Isaac was born, out of death life was brought forth. What a wonderful preparation this was, considering what followed. When the Lord tested Abraham by asking him to sacrifice Isaac, he was able to meet the challenge in hope, because He knew the faithfulness of his God, and of His power to perform, He could bring life from death, Abram had witnessed it, He knew of a surety that God was able to bring back his son from the dead. So he was able to say without any doubt, to those who had travelled with him, I and my son will go yonder and worship, but we will be back. No doubts, absolute assurance. Praise God for His provision, it just goes to show that He does not ask anything of us, without equiping us for the task. What a wonderful God we have. With love in the Lord
