In fact I know I have not put the bracket in the right place in the previous post anyway, but will wait for your reply before saying more. The point is that the mystery of Christ was known to a degree by those in ages past, through the writings of the prophets, but made fully known by the opening of the eyes and understanding by the Spirit of Truth to the apostles and prophets of the NT. Whereas the mystery revealed to Paul alone, the dispensation of the mystery, was not the subject of OT prophecy, hence the need for the prayer of chapter one for the spirit of wisdom and revelation, because this knowledge could only be spiritually discerned and that by revelation.
