Posted by Chris on 9/5/2006, 3:12 am, in reply to "Re: 'Sent'" (Col 1:27) To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Your reference to the commission given to Paul made me think of the verse above, (Col 1:26) Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: The mystery, hidden from ages and from generations is now made known 'to his saints', 'to whom' God would make known the riches of the glory of this mystery - which is 'Christ in you, the hope of glory', He says (Col 1:28,29) "WHOM we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect (mature) in Christ Jesus: Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily." This 'word' is not for the newly converted, but for those who are ready to receive, those already 'saints', who have received the first principles of the knowledge of God and are able to receive the 'Meat of the Word'. Unfortunately these 'newly converted ones' often become so steeped in tradition through an undivided Word that they are not able to receive this word of truth when it is revealed to them. Praise God that He is able to open the eyes and give understanding to the heart. (Ephesians 1:17-) Yet I believe that no one who is destined to become a member of the Church which is His Body, will fail to acknowledge and receive this truth. Thank you for sharing something of yourself Lyn, it is good to know you. In Christ Chris
