(Heb 7:22) By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. In God's sight we have died with Christ, been buried with, quickened and raised with Him, ascended with Him and sit with Him at God's right hand in the Heavenly Places (Oh, What joy Elle!) and we await His manifestation in Glory, when we too shall be manifested with Him there. At present all this is by faith, but one day it will be an actuality - again 'When God Will's' - I am thrilled with this truth Elle, and cannot talk about it enough. I hope that my enthusiasm will be matched with your own. Yours in Him Chris

Dear Elle,
-------------
(Gen 43:9) I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever:

A 'Surety' , like a pledge is something we can be sure of. Christ is our surety - not of a 'better testament (or covenant)' because that is Israel's hope, but He like Judah in the 'type' found in Gen 43:9 and 44:32 in the story of the 11 sons of Jacob who travelled down to Egypt to buy grain. Judah put himself up as a surety for Benjamin, and he was so 'identified' with him that if Benjamin went not home, then neither did Judah. But Judah and Benjamin went home to their Father together. Jesus said to His discipes "My Father and your Father".
No man knows the times that God holds in His own council. But we believe that His promises are true and are trusting Him to resurrect us to life 'in Christ Jesus' our Lord.
