Posted by Chris on 8/11/2006, 9:05 am, in reply to "Re: The 4 "Gospels"" I have not fully associated the Kingdom being proclaimed in the ‘gospel of the Kingdom’ and the subject of the prayer also in Matthew 6:10 “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” To be ‘The Kingdom of heavens’, that period on earth when the prophetic type of Daniel 4:25 and 26 shall be fulfilled. [The decree of ‘The Most High’ upon Nebuchadnezzar] “...... till thou know that the most High ruleth in the Kingdom of men, ... ”The heavens do rule”. “The Most High ruleth in the Kingdom of men”. (Dan 2:44) “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.” (Dan 7:13, 14) “I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. (14) And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.” (Dan 7:27) “And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.” (Rev 11:15) “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” I read in a book by Stuart Allen that ‘the word kingdom refers not so much to the country, or the subjects, as to the sovereignty and rule of the King.’ I like that. ------------------------ With the climate of war between Israel and the surrounding ‘nations’ at this present time looking very threatening, our minds are bound to consider the events of prophecy and wonder about what the outcome will be. Only time will tell whether this is just one of many wars, or the escalation of events leading to the time of the end. Just a few thoughts. Chris
