Posted by Lynn on 8/9/2006, 12:18 pm The books written during this time include the Acts, 1&2Peter, James, 1,2&3 John, and seven books written by Paul: Romans, 1&2 Corintians, Galations, 1&2 Thess, and Hebrews. The Gospel of God The main message throughout is found in Acts 3:18-20: Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you. Peter's Message: Stephen's Message: James' Message: Paul's Message: Also Acts 28:17-24, Ro 1:1-6 [Romans was the last book Paul wrote during the Acts period] The Message of God by His Holy Spirit through His "other servants" was Rejected: [Matt 24:9] Acts 7:51,59; Acts 12:1-3; Acts 22:20-22; Acts 23:10-15; Acts 24:5-9,27; Acts 26:6&7 The books written during Acts were written "to the Jews first" and to Gentiles grafted in to the Jewish hope: Ro 1:16 Ro 2:9,10 "to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile" Acts 3:25,26 Christ being a light to the Gentiles was no secret: Israel was set aside Because of Unbelief: Israel is now "lo-ammi"- Not My People. The hope of the earthly kingdom is postponed. Acts 28:25-28; Ro 11:7,25,30; Heb 4:8,9 Prophecy in Hosea 3:4,5

Like the "Gospel of the Kingdom" described in the previous posting, the message found in the Books written during the Acts also proclaim the kingdom on earth and quote the same prophecy found in the Old Testament. The difference is that the "Gospel of God" deals with the risen Messiah. The kingdom of God is so called because it was God who raised Christ from the dead.
But those things, which God before had showed by the mouth of His prophets, that Christ should suffer, He hath so fulfilled.
Acts 2:29,36
Acts 7:2-53
Acts 15:13-20 [includes 4 laws for Gentiles]
Acts 26:22,23
Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying NONE OTHER THINGS than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that He should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and also to the Gentiles.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek [Gentile].
Hosea 2:23 [and Luke 2:30-32]
"and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God."
For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an ephod, and without teraphim: Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and His goodness in the latter days.
