The Old Testament is quoted many times. The church of the Kingdom of Heaven was planned from [since] the foundation of the world.[Matt 25:34] Because Israel rejected Him, the Kingdom was postponed. The "New Covenant" has yet to be fulfilled. See Ezek 11:19 and Jer 31:31-34. Compare Heb 8:6-10, 9:1-4, 10:16&29. Heb 8:10 says "after those days". The nation of Israel was set aside and the Kingdom postponed because of unbelief. The vail of blindness is still in place today.

It is interesting to note that it never says there were three wise men. Matt 2:11 tells us that they went to a house, not a stable.
