Posted by Chris on 7/30/2006, 4:12 am, in reply to "The Latest Message" I want to discuss one point that you raised, quote:- Acts 15:20 They also were to have "all things in common". Disobedience brought instant death: Acts 4:32,34 Ananias and his wife kept back part of the price of their land. They died as a result of it. [Acts 5:1-10] Why aren't people dropping dead today? The words "But now" occur many times in scripture. People have been very inattentive to the latest revelation and the result is a great lack. It is true that all scripture is for our understanding, but we must not neglect the latest unfolding of God's purposes. --------------- The attitude expressed by those early disciples was not because of an imposed law was it Lynn? It was voluntary. The only reason that the judgement of God fell on Ananias and Sapphira was because they lied to the Holy Spirit. Their offering was 'freewill'. (I have something in the back of my mind about this, which has it's roots in the prophecies concerning the end time in the Old Testament, but will need to search it out - perhaps you know what I am referring to? About all having everything in common) In His Grace

Hi Lynn,
But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things in common.
Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold.
