You need to take it to a mechanic who has a OBD 2 (on board diagnosis) computer tool which he plugs in to your vehicle and will tell you a code number which relates to a specific item that needs replacing (usually) or perhaps adjusting. Some mechanics (and some dealers) will do this for free and then you can decide what is the best remedy. With this tool you can 'clear' the light but if the problem hasn't been fixed it will come back.
