I have some new information about Baby Faith. She has IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction). That can be caused by several things and doctors can't say for sure what caused it to happen to Baby Faith. There are two types of IUGR, symmetric and asymmetric. In symmetric cases all the organs are smaller and in asymmetric cases the head and brain are normal size but the rest of the body is smaller. Doctors don't know yet which case Baby Faith has. A lot of complications can be caused by IUGR. These may include early delivery, baby not getting enough oxygen, baby can develop pneumonia, baby may have low blood sugar, may have too many red blood cells, or may have motor and/or neurological disabilities. 70% of these babies don't survive. So all I can tell you right now is the odds are against Baby Faith surviving and, if she does, there is no way of knowing what physical and/or mental disabilities she will have.
Right now all the mom, Megan, can do is watch her own nutrition, rest as much as possible, and go to her doctor appointments.
Baby Faith is in God's hands. Please continue to pray for Baby Faith, for her mom Megan, and the rest of the family.
Thanks and God Bless you.
Phyllis
