G'day Gail and everyone! Yep, you heard right - I have seen a General Lee being driven on an Australian road! Oh Boy, am I really excited!
Truth is, I actually saw it last Saturday afternoon as my hubby and I were out coming back home from a day out at a local shopping centre. It passed us going in the opposite direction, but I spotted it approaching and screamed out to hubby, 'oh my gosh, I don't believe it, that's a real live General Lee passing us by!'. Hubby reckons I aged him 20 years and deafened him at the same time!! LOL! I just couldn't believe it, Gail - to think I had dreamed of just seeing a General once in my life, not on tv or in the movies, but actually being driven on the road. And, yes, I am 100 percent sure it was the genuine article; a '69 Dodge Charger, with the same orange paint job, 01 on the doors and Confederate flag on the roof. You certainly couldn't mistake it for any other car in existance, could you?? Would love to get in contact with whoever owns it just for a close-up view - I am not sure, however, if it was right or left-hand drive. Left-hand drive cars require a special permit to be driven on our roads over here, and they are mostly US cars, too.
So what do you think, mate?? One of the best moments of my lifetime....
