Posted by Jason For those of you unfamiliar with Dar Williams, she is a brilliant singer/songwriter and her lyrics are intricate, emotional, and amazing. I highly recommend her music. Dar is releasing a new album Feb. 18th. It's called "The Beauty of the Rain", and it combines Dar's amazing lyric talent and intricate guitar with guest musicians like Alison Krauss, Bela Fleck, John Popper, Stefan Lessard (Dave Mathews Band), John Medeski, and Michael Kang (String Cheese Incident). As a fan and a songwriter, I can't emphasize Dar's talent enough. She can fit so many emotions and images into a single line, and she tells rich, deep, and diverse stories. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an empowering, sensitive, clever woman songwriter.
