Re: Rarity"
Nice looking guitar. I know nothing about other guitars and models but maybe someone else will chime in. Here's one of mine that sat in my Mom's closet for about fifty years. I found it while cleaning out her house last year. I don't know why I stopped using it. I almost threw it out as the neck was loose there was a crack down the middle and it was just in rough shape having sat for all that time. Then I found a Harmony Lover's page on Face book and posted a picture. The crowd went wild as they say. Apparently, according to one guy who responded, this was one of the highest quality guitars Harmony made at the time. Wowed me. I ended up finding a guy in Maryland who specialized at refurbishing Harmony guitars, at a fixed price. I sent him the guitar and about six weeks later I got it back. Almost like new except for a missing pick guard on the upper bout which was missing when I found the guitar and haven't been able to find a replacement for it. The restoration cost me $600 on a guitar that cost me maybe $75. But I've seen used ones of the same model selling for four figures on eBay. So I know how much an old guitar can mean to us. Hell, just think John Denver - This Old Guitar! Oh yeah, the guitar is a Harmony 1265 (Sovereign)
