The current "trademark" group has some serious flaws. Their presentation has too many principal songs left out (that Bob Shane, himself, certainly would've included, and always did!). The banjo player is out-of-tune often (maybe should invest in one that stays in tune better?). The front man is pretty weak. He really looks like he's in over-his-head. He rambles when he speaks, and makes a substantial amount of mistakes (usually his rhythm/timing). Haworth was the same as he was when I first saw him with Shane years ago - competent and professional.
Not a major surprise that it didn't work out well with these amateurish musicians. This is something that never should've happened, to begin with - they must've caught Bob Shane napping! George Grove should be running this show, IMHO, and a case COULD be made for Josh Reynolds being involved, because of the blood connection, but these guys booted him, too. A lot of "revival" groups out to make a living on the nostalgia circuit have problems with personnel (and the appearance of legitimacy), but this scenario has them all beat, in my book!
