I think the Stewart Trio took it in a different direction with a more contemporary feel for the time. I have often that that GBR were basically what NBD would have sounded like, if they stayed together.
Just my opinion...no one could replace Dave as he was unique to say the least. NBJ came when the name was still riding high...I respect the heck out of JS but that trio, just my opinion, was one of the weaker versions. Bob, Nick, George had things nailed and of course GBR in their own way. TC
Its subjective. You can't put in a bottle what NBD and NBJ had. Tons of charisma. You can't duplicate that. But as far as musicianship and vocals, GBR are right there with them. IMO MTABob
