Re: Cataract Surgery
Rick, I had both eyes done in 2001. Like you said, "piece of cake". Well worth it.
Relative to the below post about George's surgery and complications. I spoke with George last week and he told me about it. He also explained the complication, which I won't go into, as it's a health issue, and therefore, his business. But I just wanted to say for anyone who might at some time be facing cataract surgery. Don't sweat it. As long as there are no complications, it's a breeze. I had both my eyes done ten years ago, within two weeks of each other. To me at least, there was nothing to it. A little weird, since you're wide awake for the procedure, watching the scalpel come at you, listening to the doctor and nurses chatting. But it was well worth it. I started wearing glasses as a kid in fourth grade. Nine years old. My doctor decided I needed cataract surgery when I was sixty years old. I had it done and after fifty years of wearing glasses or contact lenses, over night I went to 20/20 vision. I couldn't believe it. What a difference. I have to wear cheaters to read, but I'd much rather be able to see distance. I can watch TV, go out and look into the night sky and see the stars. Drive without glasses. It's a whole new world. So, if your facing cataract surgery, don't fret. It's no big thing!
