My father, Eddie Collins is being inducted this year. Eddie was a life long, full time, professional musician. Although he played a plethora of musical instruments, including French horn in symphony orchestra, his biggest success came as a banjo and guitar player. His guitar playing was in a class with the likes of Tony Mattola, George Barnes etc. But his high energy flashy banjo act made him a living. He was credited with renewing interest in the roaring 20's jazz style banjo due to his work with the Art Mooney orchestra in the 1940's. Million seller records such as "Four Leaf Clover" and Baby Face" brought them the recognition to tour for years.
Eddie is being inducted in the field of "Historic Performance"
Others inducted this year include Borgy Borgerson, Bela Fleck and...KERMIT the Frog!
Hope to have report and pictures before to long. TC
