Thanks Mark and welcome to the board! Nice to have a fellow cop on board. And John wrote a great song called Cops! Magnum stroker, donut choker! Gotta love it.
That would have been cool to have worn our military ribbons too. I could have worn another five or six. But what are depth ribbons? Never heard of them. Thanks and once again, welcome Brother!
New to the board. Thanks for starting it. I too am retired LEO
with time on Kansas City MO PD and in Orange
County in CA. I support your response to
Marvin 150%. I think John Stewart would also.
Back in early 70’s, JS went on several ride-alongs
with me in Orange County. He brought his little notebook on these ride-alongs and had tremendous respect for the police.
He saw first-hand the crap we put up with
and he appreciated what LEO’s do.
Keep up the good work on this board.
PS - great to see your ribbons. We worn our military ribbons under the badge and depth ribbons above name tag
Rick: meant to type department ribbons. Like
Swat, Hostage Negotiation Team, etc.
John told me he would write a song about all we talk about. I first heard Cops at Arnie’s house in Laurel Canyon. John sent me a handwritten note after I called him to tell him thanks for the song. I sent a copy of that note to Buffy. The song recorded only twice Phoenix Concerts and The Zig Zag Concert CD recorded in’74. Arnie sent me that CD.
