Re: The Good Ol' Days
Josh, my Officer Daly days are behind me. And even while I was still on the job, I always felt that weed should be legal. Just sell it and tax it like alcohol. In thirty years on the job, I never ran into an angry pothead but I saw my share of angry drunks. Just don't drive while high.
Why, Officer Daly! I'm shocked!
I got the impression the original groups were pretty much beer drinkers back then.
Seems like I saw a rider once and it was more or less one mic, a long table for the instruments, a pitcher of water and three glasses-nothing extravagant. That's all they needed to come out and kick your ass. I'm sure there were provisions for lodging and ground transport as well.
By the 70's, who knows?
In the contract rider that Rick posted, check out all the mandatory health food stuff that must be backstage. OK, what do you figure the equivalent was back in the NBJ or NBD era? I can think of three:
1. three cartons of cigarettes;
2. three cases of beer (and none of the cheap sh*t); and
3. a couple of bottles of scotch (again, none of the cheap sh*t).
Did I miss anything?
