You've received some good advice here. I'll add my perspective, to be taken as "for what it's worth." I just purchased my first Taylor, a K24ce. I visited the Taylor factory in El Cajon and played a dozen instruments, settling on this one. I suggested that the action was low for me, and we went downstairs to get their #1 setup guy to do just that. He showed me that Taylor innovation, the bolt-on neck (wood-to-wood rather than wood-to-glue-to-wood) with the use of varying thicknesses of shims to adjust the action, NOT the truss rod.
Were I to advise you, I would mirror the suggestion that you go to someone familiar with Taylor guitars and pay for them to adjust your instrument as you watch and learn.
