i was in 6 John-and-Nick camps and 2 Bob camps, i thought, never again; it has lost its luster. but when i heard of this camp in the proposal phases, with few constraints as to material, i signed up, mentally at least, for this camp.
i just looked at the complete list of 96 songs. at least 8 were recorded by various versions of the KT, and all 8 have been sung at camp over it's illustrious 18 years. now, at least a couple of those 8 are other-artists' versions of kt-recorded songs, as is one of my 3. the Lion Sons can sing the KT songs all they want. we're moving on.
i think we are going to see some talent in some of the returning campers that we never knew was there, just because this opportunity is so exciting. i forgot to mention maybe the most important part of the excitement for us on stage: we'll be playing with incredible professionals again, you know who they are, Kingston Trio fans, and including two of John's bandmates, superb persons and musicians, Bob Hawkins and "Dave."
