I could care less who's on first, what's on second ya da ya da ya da. The anger that some of you "adults" show in posting on either board devoted to the TRIO or Folk Music is "nuts" "crude" or just plain "sad" regarding the scenario of who sued who, or who fired who. It's none of our business! So what, there are 3 new guys... who cares. Listen to Banks & Shane then.
Life sucks at times. People get fired from jobs they love everyday.
People are born... People die. It's the shit that happens in this plane of existence.
I miss Roger Gambill. He left the group on the Lords terms.
Bob did his best to keep the "brand" alive. He worked and traveled his ass off till his heart gave out. But a "TRIBUTE" group is just that, and that is what GBR was for 12 years.
And who put the "spin" on the tale that Bob wanted Two (2) groups out on the road? Come on.... that story belongs on CNN.
My "personal" view is the TRIO ended in '67 OR...more 12 years ago, when Bob retired. Without Bob, NO TRIO! Just a band playing homage to the group that laid the "GOLDEN EGG".
I personally don't believe in "karma" either, so don't lay that one on me. I was simply laying out a scene of life portrayed as it happened. Man, you folks take everything so literally.
So, if I offended anyone...as my old radio partner Bruce Cooley (RIP) would say during the 20 years we did our morning show...(3 major markets)...."OH WELL"!
: Interesting post, Tomm.
: I, too, wonder what the reaction would have
: been if certain unpleasant Trio events had
: occurred during the internet age. I imagine
: Dave's departure would have created a
: sensation especially if, as is likely, Dave
: had aired his gripes on the 'Net. I'm sure
: there would have been pro-Dave loyalists who
: would have wanted no part of Stewart. Also,
: there would have been some lively
: discussions when Shane fired Horine and Jim
: Connor (no relation) from the NKT.
