Yes, the second half of the PBS "Kingston Trio Celebration" special, shot in Hollywood in 2016, will indeed be aired via PBS, sometime between the April/June broadcast window. It will also be part of a three-disc box set from Time-Life, which will also include our new "The Kingston Trio Holiday Cheers" special we did with Dick Risk. That second show is currently finishing up post-production and will be delivered to the network in February. Thus, I assure you, it will not "languish in limbo." And our feature film biographical project on The K3 is in active and aggressive development with the screenplay being researched and prepped for writing around March 2018. The script is projected to take about 6 months to create and complete, and the actual movie will then process through the studio's production funding, a shooting budget will be readied, and co-funding between a major Burbank studio, Desert C.A.M. Studios, and private investment, will commence. This process can take as long as 3-6 months, for contracts, film rights, legal agreements, and finally actor and director attachments. From there, we are looking at roughly 3 months of pre-production, 8 weeks of production, and around 3-4 months of post-production. Then it's locking the distributors for both domestic and foreign handling. This sets the realistic completion and release for mid-2019. It's a long process to make a major motion picture, but the deal has been officially signed with a major studio, and a major talent agency is also packaging the property. Though this is my baby, and I will be involved as both a screenwriter (I am a WGA writer with numerous credits), a co-producer, and possibly as the director (I will make that decision when the time comes and schedules are set to assure there are no scheduling conflicts). But rest assured, we are moving diligently forward n the motion picture, "Scotch and Soda: The Kingston Trio Story", as well as finishing up our current documentary, "The Kingston Trio: Then & Now" which chronicles their 60 year journey, from the original group to the current Josh Reynolds formation. We plan to have the doc ready for HBO by May 2018. And we are also planning a Broadway-aimed musical, a la "Jersey Boys" for development mid-next year as well, called: "K3: The Musical". So you may share all this with all those "curious minds", especially the many pessimistic skeptics on Crossroads. In the interim, have a very happy holiday, and enjoy, "The Kingston Trio Holiday Cheers!" Chip Miller (Director/Producer/Writer, Desert C.A.M. Studios/Winmill Film & TV Productions)
: You need to pose those questions to Chip.

: First of all, thanks for that post below and
: all the good information. And thanks for
: posting here on "The Other Board".
: My question for you is, since you've worked
: with Chip Miller and obviously have the
: inside scoop on things, do you know if the
: second half of the Kingston Trio celebration
: show will ever be aired or made available on
: DVD? I'd hate to think that will languish in
: Also, earlier this year over on the
: Crossroads message board, there was talk
: about an actual movie about the Kingston
: Trio. Did you ever hear of something along
: those lines? If so, any idea on the status?
: Curious minds need to know. Especially if
: it's Kingston Trio related! Thanks.
