Terry, while I'd like to see this go to PBS for the public to enjoy, first of all, I'd hate to have people watch it, then find a "trio" concert someplace and buy tickets and get the surprise of their lives when they get to the show and see the bait and switch of the personnel. Damn shame. But also, I love the idea of buying the DVD, with the extra material, at a reasonable price, and not the $100 a PBS station would want. Many times in the past, I have watched a PBS special which I liked, then waited until the DVD was available on Amazon for $25 or thereabouts. I realize PBS is looking to make money to keep their heads above water, but I subscribe annually to our two PBS stations and feel that's enough for me. But to each his own.
: Not comfortable with the fact that the
: "Holiday Cheers" program has gone
: so quickly to Amazon. This says to me, that
: the PBS stations aren't going to be showing
: it as part of their fund raising...you all
: know the drill. If it was going to go
: nation wide the PBS people would not allow
: fans to buy it so quickly from Amazon.
: As we've been saying since last summer...I
: guess we'll just wait and see. TC
