I had been under the understanding that if you lived far from a methadone clinic, they were able to give you takeouts without the usual waiting requirement. I know a few years ago they got me a "hardship allowance" from the state. I had left the clinic 11 months ago due to hospitalization after a serious accident. I had been in compliance with the program when I was there. When I called today to find out about getting back on, I was advised that I had to start at the begining and they no longer were allowed to give "hardship" take outs. It costs about $15.00 Round trip dayly to get there. Something seems a little off to me. Does anyone know the actual law?
