WE HAVE TO GET THE Barak to subsidiess methadone treatment.
I do not know if any of you guys knew the Miami Dade County Methadone Treatment Program that closed about 10 years ago.
They use to charge $2.00 per day per patient. However, I later learned that the fee in fact was a token fee, and that all of the fundings were already made available by the Fedes. so that the patients could have dose for Free.
They used the money they charged the dosing patients and placed it in a fund and around September every year, Miami Dade County would have a big picnic where the Abstinace Based Treatment Programs (they only paid the $2.00 when they finish the program and started on the employment fase) of the County were invited but not the Methadone patients who actual moneis were used for the picnic. The rational of course was the Abstinence Programs were the prefered protocol of Miami Dade County Drug Treatment Administrators (although they had worsed results) and the County did not want to have both programs patients inteacting with each other. Apparently they though it would creat some kind of contegious disease
NeverTheLess, if a methadone patient was late by weeks in paying those $2.oo because he/she lost a job or what ever. They would be feetoxed. As you might guess, most of those patients would immedietly relaps. I heard from other patients of some even over dose as they would probably used as many bags as they did when they enter treatment, and by being detox the patients
have lowered the tolerance.
The names have been changed to protect the guilty.
