Hi Nanette and thanks for the info. When I left the Philly area about 4 years ago I was paying $100/week and they would only allow 3 th's a weeks. Then I learned about the OBOT in Baltimore so I drove there once a month for monthly diskettes at only $80/month. Even after moving down here for a few months I flew up to pick up my monthlies but it got to be too much.
Now with the increase here at CMG (close to $400/month) I just can't afford it. And you're right, they give no breaks to you, once I was $2 short for the $336 and I had to get the $2 before they would dispense me my monthlies.
I checked with some of the airlines and I can fly round trip to Baltimore for about $175 so even though they raised their rates to $90/month, I'm still saving over $100/month by flying up there in the morning and flying back later that day.
I don't have any pain issues so I don't know if I would be accepted at the CPC, too bad because that would be ideal. And I've been on the same dose now for over 10 years (40mg/day) and get the 40mg diskettes at the CMG clinic here in Lauderdale or at the OBOT in Baltimore.
Again thanks very much for the info, it's frustrating to say the least that I can't just go to a doctor in the area and get my monthlies either dispensed by the doctor or prescribed. So it looks like starting in April I'll be flying north once a month. My job involves a lot of travel both domestic and overseas so I do need the monthlies plus I've been clean except for the methadone for a long time. Take care and hope to talk to you again.
