HI Marc, Welcome to our lttle but friendly site !!
I have been on mmt for 39 years now.YOu and I must hold some kind of record.LOL
Good old CMG the clinic I love to hate.Rather the corporation I hate. All they care about is their bottom line $$$.
They help you until the day you do not have the $$ to dose, then it's no money no dose.Even if you have paid them promptly for years they won't trust a patient for a day.(new company policy]
Also anyone over 150 mgs has to have a peak and trough test.Which is not a test to see if your dose is too high nor to low-but a test to see how you metabolize your medicine.Yet they can take the results and drop a persons dose to what ever they want to.Again, company policy.
I was on their clinic in Ocala,Fl. for almost 4 years after transfering from CPC in North Miami.
A great clinic where I spent about 22 years at.I lived in Ft. Lauderdale and drove the 20 miles each way to CPC even though CMG was only 3 miles away fom me in Hollywood.Plus CPC charges $1 less than CMG and nothing xtra for diskets.
Matter of fact CMG in Ocala has been charging $13 a day for a few years now. They also charge nothing extra for diskets.
I agree the price of mmt is crazy. If America would put an end to this crazy "War on Drugs"
they could take the millions of $$ and pay for treatment for everyone who needs it.
Would you believe our troops that come back from the mideast have a high rate of herion addiction?
Guess what their govt. insurance pays for mmt treatment? Nothing not a freakin dime. Not even for methadone used as a detox nor suboxone.
I have a friend that lives in Maryland and is on methadone.HE siad the clinics are now charging alot so he switched over to pain mgt.
If you have something physically wrong and you are in pain there are pain mgt. Drs. to go to that will Rx methadone for you. Most do not accept insurance at all.At least it costs half of what a clinic does each month maybe less
IF you are moving to south broward county maybe you would save more money by going to CPC.
Comprehensive Psychiatric Center on nw 183 street off of 441 in North Miami.[don't let the name throw you off] Dr. Roberto Ruiz owns 5 clinics in Miami area. They at least let you charge 2 days a week if you are short.
Just in case you go there tell him Nanette & Mike sent you. We got along great with him.
Also he honors take outs that you have. You can still go in 1 time a month.
Down on this list there is a petition to sign
please be sure and sign it.There are forces at work trying to make methadone illegal and if they can't do that they are trying to make takeouts illegal.
