When I first started methadone. I was in the Dade County Clinic (which does not exist any more, as far as I can tell Dr. Ruiz runs the clinics that used to be runned by the County at least he got that funding0 from the state. From what I uderstand that clinic in South Florida has a low fee. When I was in it in 1992 it was $2 a day. I think it is now around 9 or 10. Their mentality is that if you used to spend more than $10 a day on iligal heroin then you should be able to afford whatever fee "they think is rasonalble". They do not take into account that you are now trying to rehabilitate yoursef and when most of us where on heroin we had some kind of skimm to make money and we do not long do that.
