HI Terrence, I live in North Florida about 150 miles NW of Orlando.I have to travel about 90 miles each way to get to a clinic in Ocala.
I have been on mmt for 38 years in the state of Florida.There is only 1 clinic that is free and it is in Jacksonville. It is very strict with group therapy and so many hoops to jump thru it just is not worth free-even.[unless you happen to live across the street from it]
The programs in Orlando and Kissammee are $13 a day just like the clinic in Ocala is.
There is a program called 'Par' in west central Florida that has a sliding scale fee.BUt their scale [I called and asked] is from a low of $71 a week- if they have an opening and if you are very close to broke, have a very low paying job etc etc. Other wise they charge $130 -$150 per week.
It is like the patients with a good job subsidize the $$ for the patients who do not have a good job.
However they are 1 of the very few programs that take medicaid. If you are fortunate enough to have it.
The state of Florida is hard to get medicaid from if you are not below poverty level and donot have children very young or under 18 and still in school.then you can forget it.
Compared to New York Florida is a 3rd world country when it comes to mmt.
What part of NY are you from?If you have takehomes there on your clinic you can transfer them on most clinics here.but be sure and call the program up and ask first.
Also in Kisseemmee where you on a Colonial Management Group [CMG] clinic? They will transfer your takeouts to their clinics.CMG has clinics all over Florida.You probably were on 1 last time you were here.

Sorry there are no free or even close to free clinics in the state. except 1
Believe me there are me and my husband going to a clinic and $13 xs 2 people a day is hard to do.
I would know of a program that is cheaper IF
but with the price of gas here at $4.10 a gallon for premium driving 50 miles like you said each way -just would not pay off unless the clinic was $5 a day and they have not been that cheap since the 1980s'
