Hi Karen, Thank you for your post and welcome to our small site!
Yes,Par will let some people pay $71.00 a week if they meet the financial requirements.
But for those who do not or to those they do not want to charge that fee to Then it is alot more. Sort of like the ones that make a little more money to live on are subsidizing the ones who are not making as much.
Bottom line as with all clinics, they want to help you when you are on their program until the day comes when you run out of money then they stop caring and it is out the door.
There is a very nasty side to the private methadone clinics.
When you are out of $$ you are out of luck and most patients they let go of due to finances not being great for a week or so [which happens to most of us,especially now a days]
usually wind up back on the streets using drugs again ,wind up in jail or dead.
I have been on MMT for 38 years and have never known a patient who was administratively detoxed
be able to not use drugs.
Some clinics let patients charge up to a few days -others do not let people charge at all
The methadone costs them less than 10 cents a day per client. The clinics are making a fortune
even at $71 a week it is a disgrace.
Clinics usually won't accept medicaid medicare nor insurance. Those that do are few and far between.Especially in Florida.
I hope your daughter gets to pay the $71 per week I just wish it was much much less than that !
