The negative sensations you suffer are strong, so strong that they hypnotize you. But you just have to focus your attention to anything else, and you come back to your normal state. Focus your attention to anything funny, any joke, and you'll begin to laugh, you'll feel normal and good.
You also can use a physical trick, for instance tighten all your muscles, and you (the consciousness you are) come back in your physical body. You also can contract/relax your diaphragm, massage your solar plexus, center of emotions, breathing full breath, and the emotion goes away.
Also you can use as a reference of well being a pleasing memory, or a music you love.
