Betty, I feel your pain. I've had two spine surgeries, a complete fusion to the upper thorasic spine from t2 to l4. I haven't reached fifty, only 31 but deal with similar pains. I don't take anything but an occational ALEVE but I keep fit with alot of walking. No children yet for fear of more pain. Watch out not to overmedicate yourself and remeber that excersize sometimes is the best medicine. Take Care. Write me if you'd like.
