I had it at 40 years of age. Its a very big surgery. It was tough to recover from at my age I am still recovering from it after a year. They say a younger age has a easier recovery period than an older person. I don't no how true that is. I had to have it because it was compromising my heart and lungs function and I also had a lot of pain where I couldn't walk for very long distances before I had to sit down again. They said my curves were really bad. 80/65. I also had an S curve.
