I had a harrington rod placed in my back in 1979. The surgery was a "success". I have, over the years, had many physical problems. I can't walk for long periods of time without my inner back hurting. I can't feel the center of my back. I have been to nerve doctors, back doctors and any one else that could help. The answer: this is so old, we can't take it out and the only thing to do is live with it. Shots in my neck and back, therapy, medication. Nothing has helped with the nerve problem of the back pain. Oh yeah, the rod has not deviated and it is not broken. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
