hey Gil, what's up? how u been? well the band is doing allright, not as good as i think it could be but it's still going and that's the most important thing, after all these years it has gone thorugh several line up changes as you may already know and it even has been transformed into a three piece band from time to time during which i've had to play both rythm and lead, lol i think i've done a decent job those times for someone who has never thought of himself as being a lead guitar player or "guitar hero". Anyway, "keep you around" was actually inherited to Deveat from a previous band i had formed, yes that song is over 10 years old, there's actually a recording of that song with my previous band, it has a guitar solo which Alonzo and i had written. When Frank heard it he liked it and learned the song, later he added his personal touch and added a couple of things to the solo which made it even better. Frank is not only a creative guitarist but also he is always willing to listen to advice given to him by his bandmates and takes constructive criticism very good and learns from all of these, he was never concerned with how fast he could play or how heavy his distortion should sound but he always came up with something creative to make the songs better. We are trying to finish some new recordings which will include a new version of "keep you around", it'll be basically the same thing except it'll feature a different bass line by adam. You are right Gil, it's hard to get ahead in this town, but i'm not one to complain, if the opportunities are not here we'll look and find them somewhere else and that's why we go play out of town quite often, and if our lead guitarist quits i'll take over his duties as best as i can, if our drummer leaves we'll find a replacement, heck we now feature two drummers lol, i've learned that one has to keep on playing no matter where or with who, when you give up you loose. Thanks for dropping by, i hope things are going great for you, good luck with everything.
