Posted by Henry I am 41, male, non - smoker, geologist by trade. Couldn't quite call myself a sailor yet but have spent a few months cruising up the east coast of Australia on a couple of boats and feel pretty comfortable with how most of it works. I am told I don't get sea sick and keep a good watch, I can navigate, plot courses, trim sails etc. I've seen worse in the galley. Seems quite likely I could be at a loose end around the time you hope the boat to sail.
