Photos show that a lot of exterior maintenance needs to be done, but apparently Andrew doesn't have the money after paying that legal settlement. Charles is right to insist that the property be properly maintained and repaired, as allowing further disrepair is poor stewardship of the estate. Andrew has already paid around $8M USD for interior upgrades, so it's not like he's letting the house rot. But it needs a new roof, and clearly exterior cleaning and painting.
So what is the difference between Charles paying for the exterior repairs and letting Andrew stay versus making him leave? Either way the work needs to be done. Or will the work be paid for by the Duchy of Lancaster and the Wales family will move in?
